Describe a memorable journey you have been on. You should say
Where you went
Who you went with
What kind or kinds of transport you used
And say why you liked it so much
Anytime we travel, we must take a journey, and some are longer than others. I’ve traveled to a few different places in my life, but the journey I’d like to talk about today is my recent trip to Niagara Falls.
My closest friends and I planned the trip together. Niagara Falls is a very popular holiday (1) in North America and it can get very busy with (2) so we decided to (3) in the winter.
Although we live in Asia, Niagara Falls is still quite far away. The only way to get there is to take a flight to New York. However, direct flights was far too expensive, so we had to take two planes and had a stopover wait in Korea. Once we arrived in New York, we stayed in a (4) and met some really nice people.
Around Niagara Falls, there were many family-friendly attractions, such as theme parks, aquariums, and museums. The shops were full of (5) . I was also fascinated by the (6) of the biggest waterfall in the world, and the mountain scenery was majestic. It was a really great trip. It’s certainly not the kind of adventure for someone looking for a wildlife safari but if you want to relax in the middle of stunning landscape I would certainly recommend a holiday to Niagara Falls.

Examiner: What do you think has led to the growth in the tourism industry?
I guess if you ask me, the simple answer is that people go on vacation because they need a break from ordinary life. Also, it’s much easier and affordable to travel now. Nowadays you can get cheap (1) or (2) to somewhere near or to a (3) .
Examiner: How do people tend to choose a destination?
I think the internet is a great source of information and (4) travel agents are still very popular. That’s where I like to go to get (5) for the place I’m interested in. They usually offer (6) holiday deals, for example, you can easily find a hotel deal where the price includes accommodation, meals and drinks at any time. I mean who wouldn’t like to enjoy huge savings and a true stress-free holiday?
Examiner: What kind of holidays will be popular in the future?
That’s an interesting question. I guess I would say that holidays in the future will probably be fairly similar to the way they are now, except for one thing. I think more people in the future will take holidays in places that are not usually popular with tourists, or may even be considered dangerous to visit. Although it’s usually common for travelers to deal with (7) , (8) , and, in some cases, homesickness, today there are more adventurous travelers than ever choosing lesser-known places in Europe like Croatia, as opposed to more traditional tourist sites, like Paris. Maybe this trend will continue as people in the future continue trying to find unique and authentic experiences while on holiday, while also avoiding (9) .
Examiner: How important is it for families to go on holiday together?
Well, I don’t think that it’s necessary for all families to go on vacation together to be happy, but it is a nice way to spend time together and to keep each other (10) . After all, it is a bit inconvenient to go on holiday together from my experience. When I was growing up, my family took vacations together at least once a year. Sometimes flying can be quite boring. I mean all the (11) at the check-in desk, going through (12) and sitting for ages in the (13) can be unbearable if we don’t have someone to talk to.
