Thank you for coming along to the talk about our team building events. As you may already know, we offer sessions in your organisation, or away-days when your staff members visit us at one of our sites to complete a schedule of activities to help them bond and work together as a team. I’ll start by giving you a bit of background information about The Team Building Company as I believe some of you don’t know very much about us yet.

We opened 5 years ago as a small enterprise running activities in clients’ offices, then 3 years ago we purchased a property in Wales and that’s when we started running away-day events. We grew quite rapidly after that and we’ve been away-days and office-based sessions in various locations across the UK for the past one and a half year now.

Nowadays, customers who book an event with us have a choice of over 30 sites. In Wales, we now have over 6 sites that we either own or have exclusive use of. Scotland is where we have the majority of our sites now, mostly in the south-east of the country, and we are currently looking into expanding into Northern Ireland. We have a number of sites there, which are in the process of upgrading to make them suitable for out training events.

We are confident that all our sites offer fantastic facilities for team building activities. Each event kicks off with a tug-o-war activity, which involves two teams pulling a rope in opposite directions to see which side is the strongest. After that, we usually have a quiz activity including information about colleagues and your company, or some kind of communication-based activity like building towers out of straws and blue tack. By the way, we have a ‘no phones’ policy during sessions. Of course, we understand that as working adults you staff may need to take calls at various points during the day but we ask that they restrict that to before the first session which starts at 10.30. That gives them from arrival time at 9am or 9.30 until around 10am when we begin the warm-up activities to make calls. Of course, they are free to make and receive calls during the 11.30 break, and during lunch hour between 1 and 2 as well.

Now, it’s very rare that anything goes wrong at a team building event, but just in case, it’s always best to be covered by accident insurance as some of our activities are quite physical. If you haven’t organised your own, you’ll need to take out the low-cost policy we offer and we require you to arrange this on behalf of your staff members when you make your reservation with us.

There are many advantages to choosing The Team Building Company and recommending us to others. Regular customers will be kept informed of special offers and anyone you refer will be able to benefit from 5% off their event, or receive a free session. In return, we’ll send you a thank you present, which you can choose from our list of items.

As for our sites, they are equipped to the highest standard and everything you and your staff will need for the events. Inside every training room there will be light refreshments – usually cut fruit – and bottled water. There will also be stationary – pens and paper - available. If anyone would like to take notes during a session they can ask for one of our note pads. Usually participants are too busy to need it, but should they require it, a password for the

wi-fi in all training rooms is available to participants. Outside the training rooms that wi-fi will be out of range but staff are welcome to use the guest connection in the central areas. All sites have a café and vending machines that sell crisps and chocolate bars.
