    (Section 1: You will hear a conversation between a journalist and two customers who have recently attended an art exhibition. The journalist is collecting their feedback on the art exhibition. First, you will have some time to look at questions 1 to 5 [20 seconds]. Now, listen carefully and answer questions 1 to 5.)

    I=Interviewer

    A = Alex

    J = Jade

    I: Hello, Alex. How are you?

    A: I’m fine, thanks.

    I: Hi Jade. How about you?

    J: Not too bad.

    I: Great. Now, as I explained before, I’m a journalist for the local newspaper and I’m writing an article about the art exhibition that started yesterday. I know that you’ve both been to see it already and I’d like to ask you about your experiences– what you thought about the exhibits on display, how you found the venues etc. Is that ok?

    A: Sure.

    J: Yes, I’m happy to share my views.

    I: Great. So, Alex I’ll start with you. I’m interested to hear what you thought of the exhibition.

    A: Hmm, well to be honest, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I found it a bit boring. I wouldn’t recommend it. I thought it was a waste of 2 hours.

    I: Oh really? Well that’s a shame. I was looking forward to seeing it myself.

    A: Yeah. You might have a different opinion, of course, but I was disappointed and a bit annoyed too because I bought a regular ticket not realizing that there’s a student ticket which is half the price.

    I: Right. And what did you think of the venue?

    A: It was at the conference centre in town. It’s clean and modern there. It was a good place to hold it.

    I: Right, well that’s something. And what about the commentary on the exhibits? Did you enjoy that?

    A: Yes, that was interesting. I wasn’t keen on the exhibits, as I said, but the commentary on some of them was interesting.

    I: Great. So you mentioned that you booked the wrong ticket. Can you explain what happened there?

    A: Yeah I just didn’t realize there were discounts. The website didn’t show options for ticket types.

    I: Right, that’s unfortunate it didn’t show the options.

    A: Yes. They should really update the prices on the website so people know what different types of tickets they can buy.

    I: Mmm, I agree. They need to update the prices. Thanks, Alex. That was really helpful. I’ll move on to Jade now.

    (Before you hear the rest of the conversation, you will have some time to look at questions 6 to 10 [20 seconds]. Now, listen and answer questions 6 to 10.)

    I: Hi Jane. I hope you are having a better experience at the exhibitions than Aex.  What did you think of it?

    J: Umm, well I went yesterday and thought it was really good.

    I: Great. So you would recommend it?

    J: Yeah, definitely. I really enjoyed it. I especially loved the first exhibit I saw. It was an amazing sculpture called The Tiger.

    I: And did you have any problems with the ticket website like Alex did?

    J: Not with the website, no. I had booked an advance group ticket that admits up to 5 people if they arrive all together.

    I: Good idea.

    J: Well, not really, because in the end I could only find 2 friends who wanted to see the exhibition so we were only 3 people in total and the price of the ticket worked out to be quite expensive in the end.

    I: Right, I see. And what did you think of the venue?

    J: yeah, I agree with Alex. It’s new and comfortable. I enjoyed looking around.

    I: Hmm, yes, it’s a nice venue. And do you have any suggestions for improving the exhibition?

    J: Hmm, well, I would have liked to buy something to drink but there weren’t any refreshments on sale. So I think it would be nice if they could sell refreshments.

    C: Right. Well, thank you both very much for your feedback. It will be really helpful for my article.
