Answer 2: I live in a rented room in a (7) . It is a superb building equipped with all the facilities. My answer would be yes. I have nothing to complain about with my current accommodation. Everything is up to par, from the neighbours to the (13) to amenities. That’s why I have no intention of leaving this wonderful neighbourhood.

Describe a house or an apartment that you would like to live in. You should say

• What kind of  accommodation it would be
• where it would be
• who would live there with you
• and why you would enjoy living in this place

Since I was a young boy, I have always dreamed of my future home. Today I would like to share with you about my ideal place that I would love to live in.

I think most people when answering this question would say they’d like to live in a big (1), but to me, urban environment is more suitable for my personality and my needs. So my dream house would be a (2) luxury condo in a metropolitan area.

In there I would live with my future family, there should be a small family of my two children, my wife and myself. Thus, the apartment should be in high floors such as 15th or above, and of course my place needs to be spacious, which should be about 200 square meters so my kids could have enough space to play. There should be a living room, a kitchen, three bedrooms and one balcony. In my ideal apartment, It should be equipped with (3), so when it comes to cleaning the house, we will find it easier.

Also I would plan to put tables and chairs out (4), then I could sit in, have a cup of tea with my wife and experience the city’s view.

Examiner: Is it better to own your own home or to rent?

I think both have their advantages. Living in (1) isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I mean you don’t have a huge debt like you do when you (2). On the other hand, a it requires you to (3). As for owning your own home,  I suppose settling down and (4) gives people a sense of security. Also, property market offers you an investment for the future. There is a good chance the value of your home will increase over time so it is seen as a safe investment.

Examiner: Is it common to own your own home in your country?

In my country, it’s still common to own your own home and people are willing to (5) to make their dream of owning a home possible. These people will be paying off their mortgages for many decades to come. However, renting is making a comeback again as many people have realized that renting in the right areas is actually cheaper than buying a home.

Examiner: Why are smaller homes becoming popular these days?

It is  because (6) is at an all-time low these days and it is seen as a much more practical option. Also, people are starting to see the benefits of living a simple frugal life.

People can enjoy a lot more peace and quiet in a mini home compared to living in a noisy suburb or an apartment in the city.

Examiner:What are some reasons why people renovate their homes?

It’s very common in my country because it increases the value of the home. Another reason people renovate is to upgrade a home that is old. For example, by (7), they can organize and decorate their house in a way that suits their expectation.  Some professional builders buy old homes, renovate them then sell them for a quick profit. It has become popular these days because of a home renovation reality TV program in my country.
