Without a doubt, the most advantageous technology of the past 100 years for my country has been the creation of the computer. We now have an endless supply of knowledge and new information available. The computer has also adapted common business practices, changing jobs for everyone. Finally, it has provided enhanced methods for interpersonal communication. The benefits of the computer are widely known and will only continue to enhance our societies well being.

With the continual advancements of computer technology, we now have the benefit of vast amounts of knowledge. Computer based encyclopedias have allowed people to store a great quantity of information in a small amount of space. The prevalence of online databases of newspaper articles, scholarly publications, or opinion editorials allows anyone to acquire information about many different topics and the differing opinions surrounding that same topic. A doctor no longer needs to scour medical texts to identify illnesses, but can gain that information through a quick search. Students can find research materials in a larger quantity and at a faster pace through the computer. The dispensation of knowledge is of unparalleled importance.

Additionally beneficial are the adaptations the computer has brought to the business or working world. Teachers can utilize computerized grade books to ensure accuracy and ease. Similarly, teachers have access to numerous sample lessons and ideas for doing their job better. Corporations are able to communicate globally with ease and streamline their processes. The computer has also created more businesses that center on the use of modern technology. Companies that provide online news, video streaming, computerized gaming, or online sales all exist only because of the computer. This technology has transformed some industries and generated entirely new ones.

Finally, the computer has enhanced our potential for communication. Through email, video chats, or instant messaging people have been able to keep in closer and greater contact over the past thirty years than ever in human history. A person thousands of miles away from their home country can maintain open contact with their loved ones through any number of computer related methods. The computer also allows people to store contact information with ease, or access new contact information while traveling. Computers have created new methods of communication that provide ease and speed.

Overall, the greatest technology to enhance my country is the creation of the computer and associated technologies. This has created an enormous forum of knowledge and intellectual sharing. At the same time it has altered the way work is done, and the types of companies that exist. Finally, it has provided alternative and easy methods for communicating. The advantages of the computer to change every aspect of life have been unparalleled in history.
