Composition Exercise
Fill in the gaps with the words or expressions in bold used in the model essay above.

The line graph displays the percentage of a population using the Internet over six age groups in two years.

Overall, as the population aged, the proportion of them using the Internet fell significantly in both 2010 and 2017, though its use rose meaningfully in popularity for all age groups in 2017, especially those over 45, with up to a third more users.

Regarding 2010, around 95% of those aged 16-24 used the Internet that year though its use steadily declined as people got older to around 60% of 45-54 year olds, and just under 10 percent of people in the oldest age group.

In contrast, by 2017 use of the Internet had jumped considerably in every age group except the youngest demographic, which only had a marginal increase.  For people aged 35-44, internet use increased by a fifth to 90%, and importantly by over a third for those in the 45-54 age bracket to over 60%, before finishing with 1 in 3 people going online over the age of retirement, approximately 3 times more than in 2010.
