只能接單數可數名詞的數量詞
接單數可數名詞的數量詞有 every、each、another、the other、either、neither。這些詞中除了 the other 以外，其他的詞後面一定只能接單數可數名詞，另外，根據主詞動詞一致性規則，「every、each、another、either、neither、the other +單數可數名詞」 當主詞的時候，後面必須使用動詞單數形。

Each 指兩個或兩個以上之中的「每一個」，every 指兩個或兩個以上之中的「每一個都」，後面只能接單數可數名詞。
Every fan in the stadium is cheering loudly.

I want to eat every piece of this delicious pie.
我想吃掉這個美味的餡餅的每一塊。
The show will be broadcast every weekday morning.

Every 的另外一種用法：每隔…一段時間(複數)，比如 every three months (每隔三個月)、every two hours (每隔兩小時)

the other 的用法是兩個或兩個以上之中「剩下的」，等於是把兩個以上的人事物切分成兩邊的概念，「the other + 單數可數名詞」 指的是 「剩下的其中一個」，「the other + 複數可數名詞」 指的是 「其他剩下的 (數量超過一個)」。

Either、neither 也是常見的限定詞，either 表示「兩者任何一個」，neither 表示「兩者皆非」，either、neither 後面只能接接單數可數名詞。
Either candidate is ideal for the job.
這兩位候選人的任何一個都是這項工作的理想人選。
Neither candidate is qualified for this job.
這兩位候選人的任何一個都不適合這份工作。
Here are two dresses. I think you'll look great in either dress.

either、neither、both 代名詞用法
Either、neither、both 可以當成代名詞，當面對兩個選擇，而任一選項都可以時，就用 either 來表示，而任一選項都不可以時，就用 neither 來表示，而兩個選項都可以時，就用 both 來表示。 我們來看一個例子 :
Q: Would you like potatoes or salad with your steak?
A: Either works for me
B: Neither work for me
C: Both work for me

除了上面的用法之外， either、neither、both 後面也經常接 of，要注意的是 either of、neither of、both of 後面必須接複數可數名詞。

此題選項(A) Every 是正確答案，因為 every 的另外一種用法：每隔…一段時間(複數)，比如 every three months (每隔三個月), every two hours (每隔兩小時)；選項(B) Each (每一個)，後面不加數字、而且後面要直接加「單數名詞」，若題目改為單數 year ，each year 就會是正確答案；選項(C) Either (兩個任何一個)，文法語意都不合，所以直接刪除；選項(D) Most (大部分) 後面不會加數字，所以若題目改為 years，most years 就可以是正確答案。
