TOEFL® Scores for Graduate and Professional Programs

TOEFL Scores for Graduate and Professional Programs

If you are looking to continue with higher education like graduate schools or professional programs in an English speaking environment, you should consider taking the TOEFL. More schools and programs accept TOEFL scores than IELTS.

Although a TOEFL test is an effective way to measure a student's ability to comprehend English, it is still designed for lower level studies, specifically undergraduate programs. Keep in mind that the TOEFL score will be separate from your other preparations or requirements to work or study in your field. TOEFL is not recommended to be submitted in place of any requirement.

However, a TOEFL score is still essential for many programs to consider your eligibility and to make things more complicated graduate schools and professional programs have even more specific requirements with TOEFL scores. Many schools do not only have an overall score requirement but they also go as far as asking for each TOEFL section requirement, separately. You should check your schools or programs requirements in order to make sure you know what they are looking for. The score requirements can be different from school to school and even program to program.

This post will show you field examples of TOEFL requirements of a few professional programs and graduate schools. Remember the schools' requirements are for minimum. The higher you score, the better your chance of acceptance will be.
