Adele is the most exciting British singer to emerge on the pop scene in a decade.
When it comes to playing PC games, handheld gaming PCs are slowly emerging as viable alternatives to big laptops.

Kevin didn’t appear at work today. Is he on vacation or did he call in sick?
👉 appear also has the second largest sentence verb usage in English (see Lesson 8)
Scientists agree that greenhouse gas emissions need to essentially disappear by the middle of the century in order to avoid catastrophic climate change.
▶️ occur/happen/take place
A foreclosure occurs/happens when you fall too far behind on your mortgage payments and the banks repossess your home.
Earthquakes take place/occur/happen along the faults.
Other usages of “occur” and “happen”
(1) thought, idea + occur to + person = idea, idea appears in someone's head (2) It occurs to me that = I suddenly remembered (3) thing + happen to + person (4) person + happen to + verb
